Expedition Elsecar

Documentary

Synopsis

Take a walk around Elsecar and explore some of Britain's best preserved industrial heritage. Start your tour at the Heritage Centre, then walk by the railways to the world's first practical steam engine, stop by the canal and see the remnants of a once thriving dock before waltzing into town to see how the residents lived.

About the production

Expedition Elsecar was made in partnership with Westwood2015, a local charity with a focus on preventing social exclusion. The project was filmed over the course of 6 weeks during 2021. Though lockdowns threated to scupper the project, work continued at a slower pace until filming was wrapped.

The music for the project was composed in house at Roche Valley Films making this our first documentary to feature on original soundtrack.

The film is currently on display in the Elsecar Heritage Centre Museum.
